XC90 D5 Timing Belts, Tensioners and Pullies
I have heard elesewhere that XC90s with the D5 engine have a known weakness with respect to the timing belt and associated assembly such that it is advisable to change the belt, tensioners and pullies after 60,000 miles or 5 years which I believe is someway ahead of the date suggested in the service manual.
My vehicle is just beyond this stage of its life. I would like to know if others have experienced early failures with the timing belt and whether good practice suggests that I should have these items replaced now rather than risk costly failure later. Any advice from those with experience of this would be very helpful. Thanks. |
