Default 850 tailgate wiper motor seized

The tailgate wiper motor on my 850 estate has seized.

A good few years back, same happened and it was due to the plastic sleeve over the motor spindle splitting so that the spindle got rusted in - I fixed it then by using plus gas and greasing it followed by sealing the sleeve with a piece of bicycle inner tube - I have a feeling the inner tube has failed or it may be something different.

Just about to investigate so any advice is appreciated.

Mine was seized on my V70 when I first got it, water had gotten into the casting where the shaft goes through and the shaft had rusted up to the point where it would no longer turn. I removed the shaft (with the use of a large lump hammer), cleaned both out and greased them and it worked fine for another couple of years. Had to eventually replace it again recently though as it had started to slow up again, dont think it ever ran that well afterwards come to think of it as the new one is so much smoother and quicker.. Probably best to just replace it, its not a hard job

again put on a short length of rubber inner tube that allowed the inside to be filled with plusgas. About 15 mins of working the arm left and right in sync with the motor freed it up.

now struggling to remove the circlip on CV joint
