Default 2.0L 440 Auto Used in other cars?

Hi all,

I still trying to get a speedo cable for my 1996 2.0 Auto and wondered if anyone knows if this engine and box was used in any other makes of car?

Grateful for thoughts as always.

The 2 litre engine in my 440 is a Renault sourced item (as you may know?) and so is the manual gearbox - but not sure about the autobox. The manual box even has the Renault diamond cast on the casing. I believe these items were used in 2 litre Lagunas.

Thanks Ian,

I thought it was shared with Renault - but wasn't 100% certain!

Gives me another lead to try and get the cable via Renault.

Thanks,

Try a 1990's clio aswell. Specifically a model with "f3p" engines. If you find a clio Williams by any chance, nab the engine. Engines the same, just 180bhp natural aspiration straight out of the box hehe

Also try renault 19's and late renault 5's

You could try www.speedycables.com who are a Swansea based outfit. I have received fast supply of cables from them in the past. They would normally ask for a sample of the cable to be replaced (the old/broken one). The web site does give phone contacts so you could ask them direct to see if they could be of assistance.

Speedy Cables are brilliant, they sorted one for my 1958 Wolseley years ago, however, for this one they do apparently need a sample, particularly showing the gearbox drive end of the cable.

Can you guess which end of mine has broken off and disappeared?!?!?!?!?!!!

I'll get them search for Renault ones now though......

Cheers as always matey!

Are manuals and autos the same? I have a spare car and I need a cable from it for my grandfathers car, if they just need a sample maybe sort something out?

I'm honestly not sure - as they are NLA, from Volvo at least - information is a little difficult to come by!

Anyone out there know?

If they are, even measurements and a photo would help Speedy's.

thanks for the offer though, may well help...
