CD Changer S70
I’m after an idea of how the factory CD changer in the S70 was mounted - either under parcel shelf or behind left wheel well. If it was in the wheel well did it have to have the box and lid or was it just dropped through a hole in the carpet. Any quick photos - I’ve googled and searched but no clear way for a factory install seen. I’m trying to make my install as true to factory. I would be tempted to put the little fellow in the glovebox , but don’t want to loose 90% of the space, and under the parcel shelf doesn’t look quite “factory”
Many Thanks

I tried to find out the answer when I had my 854 and never did get one.
I suspect there'a a bracket that slots under the carpet at the left side of the boot and bolts in to the captive nuts there. I had something like that and it worked quite well, but it wasn't made for the car. With this arrangement the changer sits vertically and is exposed. Later on I found an S70 in a scrapyard that had the changer suspended from the parcel shelf on right-angle brackets. This wasn't factory either, but it did look as if it was meant to be there and it freed up a bit of boot space. This picture shows both arrangements. Both units are the same physically, I ended up sticking with the Volvo unit and moving it to the parcel shelf.

The Volvo unit in position, just to show that I did clean the carpet too.
You can still buy Alpine mounting brackets from car audio people if you need them. There's not a "right" position for it, you just have to fit it in somehow among the lumps and bumps between speaker and seat belt mounting in the parcel shelf.
