Default pcv,missing bolt 4 hrs

did the pcv last night,it was all clear as it happens but one of the manifold bolts made a bid for freedom as i went to slide it into the head,it shot out of the socket and bounced off the starter and disappeared. That was at 8 o'clock.By midnight i still hadn't found it (car was back together and running) but i developed a bit of o.c.d and that bolt had to go back where it came from, not helped by it being 7mm and i only had 6 and 8 in the box.So this morning searched all round the engine for it for the umpteenth time ,there are loads of hiding places but after 10 minutes i spotted it,with the help of a long magnetic flex light, inside the fan cowling right at the bottom just outside the fan-sweep area.So if you've lost a bolt its worth looking there cos its easy to bounce off the starter and go straight in,must be a common issue i'm sure.
I usually put a small piece of tissue in the socket to hold bolts tightly,it works a treat but this was going straight in so didn't bother and paid the price.
I found it easier to disconnect the pipes and leave the fuel rail on the manifold rather than pull it out separately, but the whole job is a doddle for anyone thinking about it.

A bit late now , but if i have a bolt in a dodgy place i always place a rag underneath where it goes in.......so if it gets dropped it only falls a far as the rag!!
