I have recently had my 2005 C70 20.0T converted to lpg using a BRC system and am very pleased with the work done, however i attemted to register it with TFL in order to be exempt from the London congestion charg and was refused. The reasons given were as follows the car is not on the poweshift register and neither is the installer.

my question is a V70 and an S70 are on the list is may car the same and am I just being peanlaised for not having a roof?

secondly the garage Herts Autogas is on the list as converting Volvo models just not mine any sugestions?

My understanding is factory bi-fuels are exempt, converted cars aren't.

When my V70 was converted gas4cars.com made it clear to me that it wasn't on the register.

This is a link to the powershift register:

http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/...ter-19.11.2008

Only those cars and conversion companies listed on the register are eligable for the discount.

It may have changed but back when the Powershift register was used to allocate grants for conversions it used to be that to get a car added to the list the conversion company needed to present an example of the conversion on the specific model of car and have it approved to be included on the register. It cost quite a bit for that to be done.

You could try contacting the energy saving trust to see if they can give you any advice as they seem to administer the register now.

Best of luck.

Cheers,
John
