480 cem
It's at the outside edge of the passenger footwell.
Pull off the plastic "T" for the bonnet release, undo the screw and pull the trim panel there carefully (!) off its clips. You should then be able to see the underside of the loom and large connector going into the CEM. Disconnect this and you can undo two screws at base of CEM, then pull it down..... Oh yes - disconnect battery first to be on safe side! Hope that helps David |

If you pop it open and post good photographs of both sides of the circuit board, it's sometimes possible to see there's a fault. Bad capacitors leak, dry joints look cracked and burnt components sometimes discolour. What fault are you getting? Chris...

Incators stopped working although the hazzards work fine fuse ok etc. The wipers went erratic then they stopped working again fuses ok and rear wiper works constant when reverse is selected. I bought working stocks off the forum and it did not solve the problem so hence the posting. Thank you for your interest so far in assisting me and my son who owns the car.

Hmmm. That sounds a lot like the fun things that can happen if the CEM gets wet! Any sign of water damage on it / and signs of water ingress?
If not, maybe open it up and post some good hi-res pictures of the circuit board, front and back. It might be possible to tell from that if the fault is obvious. Chris...

Thanks Chris I will with in the next couple of days. The only water ingress has been came from the usual rear lights and they were sealed with body mastic which would appear to have gone again! We have it off the road now under cover as its too good to be sitting out for very occassional useage. So need to get these items sorted asap. Once again thank you for your interest and help which is greatly appreciated. Just as a matter of interest I can only blame myself for my son wanting one of these as I had the first road going one in Northern Ireland when my son was born and he remembers his baby seat days in it with the big old rigid volvo baby seat! Just was reminded by my son when we first got the car three years ago it was leaking in at the passengers footwell due to a blocked drain under the bonnet so I think that maybe the cause ok but it has taken three years to manifest itself !

Out tonight trying to locate and remove the cem unit. Seem to be having difficulty removing the bonnet release T did not want to force the issue but will look at it tomorrow. I did release the panel though and managed to see in behind yes I can see the loom going into a hole in the metal but its all metal there painted the same as the body work maybe its in behind that but anyway I will try getting the bonnet realease handle off and getting a better look.
