I have a C30 Powershift and I'm happy. It's not as smooth as a regular auto with a torque converter at low speed. This is a common thing with all dual clutch gearboxes. But compared to Geartronic it's far better - quicker changes up and down and virtually no performance or economy penalty.

Taking it easy on the motorway low 50s mpg is achievable, round town drops to low-mid 40s. Performance wise not much can keep up with it to about 40mph. It's great for making a quick get away from junctions.

Shame it's not available on diesels any longer. Although I see the latest mpg and performance figures show the latest Geartonics are much improved and also coming with stop/start. Not sure how useful that is, probably more pandering to marketing depts that need low CO2 numbers to brag about.
Stop/Start is worth a saving of about 8% on fuel if you use it,
ie. in traffic a lot ..

My previous Mini Cooper D had stop/start, it worked well but never made much of an impact to real world MPG. In winter due to lower temperatures it hadly kicked in and summer MPG vs winter MPG was about 2 or 3 of a difference at most which could be accounted for by greater use of heated screens, seats, longer warm up times, etc.

Thanks for pointing out the DPF, this is definitely something I will check.

Best Regards
