6x9 speakers

Has anyone fitted these in the front doors? There seems to be enough room if mounted sideways along the 'wide' strip of the door. I guess there are 6' speakers in there now?

Also does anyone know if the factory radio has standard modern type twin multi plug connectors before I pull it out?

the connection on the Volvo radio is unique to Volvo so you will need a Volvo-ISO connector (usually around £12 from halfords/audio dealers)
As for 6x9s in the front doors? good luck!!!!!

putting 6x9's in your door cards ?
I don't think you will have enough clearance between door skin and door card bearing in mind you also have window mechanism in between not to mention the side impact bars. If you do attempt to put them in you will need some pretty hefty spacers and I imagine the weight of the speakers etc will probably pull the door cards off.
Direct replacement speakers can be purchased from good auto audio shops.
