Coming home to Derby today from a caravan trip to Kent we were getting a bit low on diesel so had a splash and dash. A few miles further on the car hiccuped, cut out, info panel said service needed... We stopped and it restarted after an ECU re-boot but then suspicion dawned, did a bit of maths and...yup...I'd put in petrol...eek...

At that point it was about 50:50 so I stopped at next fuel point and topped up with 50+ litres. Seems OK now but will keep topping up with Derv to slowly reduce the dilution.

I blame the stupid Shell pump with 4 fuels on it...that and early inset dementia...............

Was wasn't it? I put in just enough to get us home so we could use our usual Sainsbugs filling station.
