Still for sale, and here's when I hang my head and admit that many of you were right, I would now happily accept an offer of 7500 (I turned down 3 offers) now that I have bought the XC90 (on credit card!).
As before it isnt the car, Im just not getting any calls at all. The car was MOT'd yesterday (pass with no concerns) and price is lowered to 7500. |

Autotrader. Although I had a guy at work who had just decided he wanted it, I was going to take it to the office this week for him, then a guy turned up on Sunday with a cash deposit and having tried to sell for so long I couldnt turn him away. Then yesterday I had another call from a guy wanting it. Like bloody buses, none for ages then all at once!
I'll miss driving the V50, I love my XC90 but going back to the V50 to take the new owner for a test drive, boy was she fun to drive! Last edited by phaedrus; Sep 11th, 2012 at 07:46. |

Great news!
It is typical though. I had the same thing when trying to sell a Discovery a couple of years ago! Well enjoy the XC, how long before you're back in a V,C or S?

Volvo V50
I was one of the people that offered you £7500 because that was my top price. Wish you had taken my offer but at least I bought one that I'm happy with. The economy of petrol is poor compared to the diesel but the price i payed should compensate when I part ex for a D5 R design in the hopefully not to distant future. Looked xc 90 but couldn't warrant the extortionate price of the road tax. But good luck and glad you eventualy managed to sell it.

You are very right. The tax on the XC90 is just too high!!!
All these talk on emission is just fake and a way for governments to load their pockets. The earth has its circle and will always heat-up and cool-down. Two years ago, I paid £155 on road tax, last year it went up to £165 and now is nearly £180. The XC90 is nearly £500. For us V50 owners it is just not fair, because if you look closely, we usually go to XC90 when we want to upgrade. It is a lovely functional SUV no matter how long they say it has been is production. Most order SUV are hardly practical – just for fancy! They must get the 2014 model more special - floating console must be included. If they make it bulkier and longer for the two seat at the far back, it will be a plus. |
