Noisey wipers
Hi All,
For some reason this evening my windscreen wipers have begun to make an almighty noise - like a load whirring. Can anyone tell me if this is likely to be the motor or should I investigate the mechanism? I have noticed the wipers have been a bit 'juddery' recently. Many thanks for any advice. Paul |

Get up behind teh dash and lubricate the mowing parts on the linkages. If this doesn't cure it its probably the motor - if it is don't ignore nothing worse than loosing your wipers.

Don't forget that you can snug up the cable lash adjustments on the eccentrics under the dash on these. It makes a tremendous difference if yours are noisey.
They are easy to do, but you will need to remove the glovebox and the instrument cluster to gain acsess. You will see a cable wrapped around each eccentric at each side of the wiper transmission where they go through the cowl. You need a 10mm wrench and a small allen (I cant remember which size). Snug up the cables until the lash is adjusted out and coat them with some good light grease. You will be amazed at how this will quiet up your wipers! Won't take more than an hour to do. -Mark |

Hiya, If it's a growling noise, which happened to mine, then it's probably the bearing in the motor. If you're handy you can strip it down & get a bearing from a bearing supplier, although the quickest method is a 2nd hand one - dead easy to fit. Cheers, Steve.
