For TomG

On the subject of bigger tanks, I remember that Amazon Cars were selling a uprated larger tank, 75 litres if I remember. There must be pictures on their website.

Default Got the eBay one ...

Thanks to everyone on this - particularly Baz and Dean for their offers of tanks.

I followed up TomG's eBay lead over the weekend and it turned out he still had it - he wanted 50 rather than 30 for it (I think he must've had a look at Brookhouse or CVI or somewhere too, Dean )

Anyway, I now have a tank without a big hole in the top - all that remains is to fit the damn thing. I'm very much learning on the job with this whole Amazon thing, so any useful tips would be much appreciated. I've read that it's a good idea to replace the fuel lines and maybe the sender when replacing the tank, just in case. Does that seem sensible?

Default petrol tank

You will probably end up sawing the petrol pipe off at the tank any way, as it is a bit of a bugger to get the tank out without unscrewing the pipe, which will almost definately be siezed.
