Glass sunroof.....? (longshot!)
If anyone has removed their glass sunroof for breaking I'd be interested, if it's salvageable. Thanks

I removed my glass solarport aftermarket sunroof in favour of fitting a new roof skin to get rid of the bloody thing. Still have it somewhere I think....
Did volvo ever make a factory glass roof? I thought they were just metal ones

I'm pretty sure the 240 only had metal sunroofs from the factory, and only on saloons/ coupes. The aftermarket glass sunroofs that seem to have been so popular in the 80s were bloody awful, and I've seen more than one where upon removing the headliner, it becomes apparent that the installer has cut out the pillar-pillar transverse reinforcing beam in the roof to fit it, which I'm sure does wonders for the car's strength and safety in a side impact or rollover. Geniuses.

another way for water to get in.I used to fit the official accessory roofs back in the late 80s, horrid things. I once had a late estate with a factory tilt and slide glass roof (long gone..sorry), so they did exist. it was gaffer taped shut, of course, and the rotten footwells were no doubt partly due to the beastly thing. |
