New vehicle replacement

We will replace your vehicle with a new vehicle of the same make, model and specification (if one is available in the UK) if, within 12 months of the main policyholder (primary policyholder), other main drivers (vehicle policyholders) or a partner buying your vehicle from new:
any repair cost or damage in respect of any one claim covered by the policy is more than 60% of the vehicle's UK list price (including vehicle tax and VAT) when your vehicle was purchased, or
your vehicle is stolen and not recovered.

We will only replace your vehicle if the main policyholder (primary policyholder), other main drivers (vehicle policyholders) or a partner:
Purchases it under a hire purchase agreement or other type of agreement where ownership passes to the main policyholder (primary policyholder), other main drivers (vehicle policyholders) or a partner and the Financing Company agrees, and
the main policyholder (primary policyholder), main drivers (vehicle policyholders) or a partner become the first registered keeper of your vehicle, or the second registered keeper of your vehicle where your vehicle has been pre registered in the name of the manufacturer or supplying dealer, providing at the time of purchase the mileage was less than 250 miles.

Vehicles sold as 'ex demonstrators' and 'nearly new' do not qualify for replacement under this section.

I'm fairly sure that the NfU will honour this for two years although not sure how competitive they are.

Actually went with AVIVA in the end. Extra named driver, business use, 10k miles pa, courtest car, legal etc. £390. Was £326 as a standard policy. Seems a good deal...

amazing for london. great job. do you have fully secured overnight parking? i guess that helps down here.

btw, if you do need to claim you can contact volvo and use a volvo garage for repairs, it just precludes you from using Aviva's courtesy car, but volvo might give you one.

The car is parked on the driveway overnight and was stated in policy. I'm actually in Surrey, but still within the M25. Kt11 postcode, so I'm sure that helps!

I renewed yesterday, tried the Volvo Insurance Web Site and it wouldn't even give me a quote, just that I had to phone them.

Did a few Internet searches and found my Renewal Quote with More Than (who are RSA, which is the same as Volvo Insurance....!!!) was the best I could get.

Had to change my occupation and added a 3rd Driver (all for Personal Business) and it was £372; which was about £20 more than last year, even with the changes.....

So you had to change your occupation just to get car insurance, that's a bit radical!

No, I have changed my occupation (well retired) & just happened to forget to amend it when I did retire.

But I do know someone who puts down a slighty different occupation (they are a sports coach & put it down as a teacher) because it's cheaper.

nice part of the world. my uncle was working at halliburton nearby for a while. i used to be a bit further east along the m25 in kt20 working for fidelity.
