Default Speedometer and Abs / Brake Lights.

The past couple days my ABS and Trac light has been coming on after driving fast into a gravel parking lot, it stayed on until i turned off the car.

Tonight i turned on the car and got a ABS Brake, with the spedo not working and the odometer reading -------. After a drove a few seconds down the street the lights went off and the gauge started working. It happened again on my return trip.

One of the dash lights are out (temp gauge, low end speed). I also noticed a clicking sound from below the steering column every 14 seconds.

This sounds very much as though you have a problem with the ABS ecu. They suffer from dry joints. Speedo works via the ecu too.
All is not lost though, search is your friend on the site, plenty of info and 'how to' diy repair or people that will repair it for you. Done it myself, very easy.

is your ignition barrel also possibly on the way out?

with the engine running give the ignition key a wiggle while still in the barrel and see if it makes any difference.

Yep, definitely suspect your ignition electrical portion of the barrel, I'd put money on it. You'll probably find your headlights go out too when this happens

headlights are staying fine. however now i accidentally shifted into "3" and have the flashing up arrows as well, and a check engine light. Everything is running and working perfect except for the speedo and the warning lights.

Thanks for the tips, ill try to ignition barrel tomorrow morning.

The thing that baffles me is whenever the keys are in the ignition its making a clicking noise from under the steering column. It sounds like a indicator, only weaker, and clicks every 13 seconds.

I had a flashing up arrows for a bit when I put it into "3" instead of D.

lights I Had: Brake, Trac, Abs, Check Engine, and up arrow.

Now I have none for some reason and its working ok... next time it occurs ill get get it scanned. (auto zone in the US does it free!)

Do these problems sounds like a modulator, or an ignition barrel?
