maybe do your plugs, clean dizzy cap and rotor arm as well.

the engine drives the gearbox, if the engine is not smooth, the gearbox will take the knock on effect of not changing gear when it should thus tripping the limp home mode setting.

its not a theory...ive learned this

also to get your car right, change turbo hoses replace with silicone ones, 4mm. and if the pcv box and system hasnt been done, a vacuum pipe which rund under the manifold fro the pvc box breaks with heat causing leak into manifold this making engine run ruff.

this can also cause the limp home mode on the gearbox.

you need to get to the root cause, at the moment you are just grasping at straws chaing the ecu, and guesswork.

If it were my car I'd spend £70 [Based on an hours labour here in Norwich from Holden Volvo main agents] and get the issue diagnosed by either a Volvo agent or a Volvo Specialist that way you will know if its a £100 or a £30 problem.

i think your best bet is borrowing the little part , cos the dealers will charge more than the cars worth and more than likely still not fix the problem, and they wont give you money back.

having the codes read can be misleading, so in my opinion, i wouldnt bother with codes read, theres an offer on here if you could borrow that part for a couple of weeks.

forgot to mention, if the engine management light comes on before you get the chance to borrow the sensor, disconnect the battery overnight for the engine management light to go out.

but once you have fitted the borrowed sensor, do not faff about disconnectiong batteries or anything else.

otherwise youll not get rectification confirmation.

Ok, Just fitted Gearbox ECU and Barometric Sensor.

Last couple of weeks i have fitted a New PNP Switch, and Given T5 a good Manual ATF flush..

So far after doing a Razz around local area T5 is again running as it should, Changing Gear smooth, and No Flashing Poxy Red Arrow.......

I just want to say a HUGE Thanks all that have helped me out with their thoughts and comments..

If the Arrow starts Flashing again, and Mode kicks in, its off to the Knakers Yard with it !!

Got Know more money to spend.

what the status with the engine management light?

cos when they are reset, they can sometimes come on again between 100 and 200 miles.

Management light off, and so far staying off, but then again i have only covered 20 miles, so it may come back on.

Taken a look at the ATF again and still not happy with the colour, very dark.
So going to give it another Flush asap.
