Default Map Version

I'm a Volvo newbie. Never had one before but I need some boot space for the next couple of years and picked up a V60 on a 14 plate.

I will no doubt fiddle with it over the next few months.

I read up on how to update the map, but haven't done it yet. My question is, is there a way to see how old the current map is?

There is a version page in the menus which gives map and software version.

Incidentally does yours have a "Globe" symbolled button on the dash (top right)? I'd assume so

Ah, finally found it. Seems I'm on 31676579AA ... so no idea how old that is. I'll put some time aside to update anyway and see what changes.

Yep.

Still pretty clueless about this car so far. Onboard manual has aged pictures that don't match what's in front of me. So far have discovered lots of optional extras I don't have, but that's life.

You should be able to download the map updates here:

https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/downloads/maps/mca

And a PDF of the manual here:

New map version dates to Feb last year with version no 32319055 so I'm guessing my current map is at least a couple of years old.

"The upload can take 15 minutes up to several hours depending on product and file size" is rather vague.

Question from the numpty seat .... can I still drive about as the map updates, or pause and come back?

There's another due in April too.

Yes you can drive and even turn the ignition off mid update, the car then continues next time you drive. You do lose some functionality during the update such as Bluetooth I think
