Default 12V ignition live in boot

Hi all

I'm looking for a 12v live supply in the tailgate area of my 2016 V60 which is only live with the ignition on. I thought the HRW fuse in the cargo fusebox would be a safe bet but no it appears to be live all the time.

Thanks

I also wanted a switched live for a rear dashcam. Ended up using a piggyback fuse holder on the cig lighter fuse (smaller fuse box under glove box), the cable does easily tuck under sill strips and an earth on rear chassis in boot.
I did check out boot power feeds, but none switched. I have a towbar module that has a switched live, but only shuts off when the electric system dropped to 12.7v (didn't want adjust anything in module)
On my old V50, I used a relay, which used cont cig live, but controlled by DRL power.

That's the route I'm thinking down, bring a live from the front. It wouldn't be a problem if the 12v socket in the boot wasn't live all the time

Just don't forget to check that the new supply hasn't bypassed the fuse (depends which way the piggyback fuse is inserted) by checking for no live with fuse removed, with Ign on.(Easily done)

I don't see how that is possible.

The supply to the new wire will either go through both on the piggyback on just it's own

It is.... If you connect the Wire side (which would go to the back) of the piggyback into the power SUPPLY side main cigarette fuse, it wouldn't be covered by a fuse because it's just plugged straight into live.

I think you'll find the piggy back will only supply via it's own fuse and just uses the car's fuse as a power source.
