Volvo 440 new owner!
Hi everyone, bought a 1990 Volvo 440 GL few days ago on ebay for £400, 57k and loads of history, been garaged for the past 8 years or so, not sure if anyone remembers it on ebay. Here's a pic of her sat comfortably on my driveway.
Drives great and liking my first Volvo experience. Had a few old Fiats in the past and a 12 plate Corsa as my daily driver but the 440 will replace it as of next week. Seems like a quiet forum but thought I'd say hi and let you know there's another old 440 back on the road! |

Hi And welcome, looks nice have you done anything with it regards servicing? 8 years cannot be good on the old rubber!
you are very observant, the forum has been a little dormant recently (probably all the good weather weve been having before everyone gets locked in during winter) especially the 400 series section. it may be worth looking at http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/

Hi thanks for the welcome. Yea the guy who I bought it off did a full service on it and took it for mot few months back, passed with only one advisory for a slightly sticking drivers side rear brake but was told it'll free itself up once it's being driven again. Had loads of new parts and work done in the past couple months hoping won't need to spend too much on it for some time.
How easy are parts to find? And how about mods like performance carburetors? And thanks I'll give it a look |
