Default st turbo on t5 block????

hi there, ive heard that the ford focus st turbo will fit on the t5 block because there the same engine, will this be a straight swap or do you have to mess about to get it to fit ???

also just reading about the bcs valve and had a look at 1, i dont have 1 at all
:-( ive taken most of my engine out and alot of other stuff and never came across this bcs thing, should i be worried???

Default ST on a T5

Are you asking about the turbocharger or the engine ? If i've read it wrong the turbo is different apparently but with a welder it should fit [at the end of the day with the right welder anything can be made to fit anything:::Except a V8 in a T5]

You would have to mess around with a lot of stuff, I looked into the same conversion as I know where there's a wrecked ST and I needed a replacement T5 engine

Management is different
Manifolds are different closer to the ME7 found on the later V70 series [not impossible to fit]

Otherwise the engine will fit

Why would you want to put a worse turbo on your car than you already have?

Your BCM/BCS or what ever you want to call it is connected directly to your turbo actuator by some rubber hose (it has 3 IIRC 5mm hoses going to it)

The Focus ST engine is not the same engine as the 850 T5. It's very similar to what is in the S40/V50 T5, but AFAIK that's a derivation of what used to be known as the 2.5T engine back in the 850/V70 days although there has been a LOT of development done on it.

No idea if you could get the turbo from the ST to fit, but there are plenty of well tried turbocharger upgrades available for the 850 T5 engine.
