Default No voice on my Sat Sav App

Can anyone help, i'm getting very frustrated.

I have a Parrot MKi 9000 phone kit fitted to my XC90.I have the TomTom App in my i phone 4. When i plug my phone into the cradle provided, the music from my phone kicks in straight away and if i use my Tom tom app the voice will only work with the music on, as in the music fades out when the voice speaks but if i pause the music the voice disappears.
could it be the settings in my phone or do i have to have music on whenever i am driving so i can use the Sat Nav voice?
Hope this makes sense!

It's probably the Parrot needing time to switch the A2DP audio being longer than it takes for the TomTom app to say the nav instruction, with the music playing the A2DP Bluetooth connection is active all the time so the TomTom app simply uses it.
There is an option to not pause the music when announcing a nav instruction or spoken speed camera warning (if you have third party speed camera files installed to the app), one other option if you only want sat nav instructions with no other sound in the car consider loading a silent mp3 track to the iPhone and select that to play on auto repeat, this keeps the A2DP connection to the car working so the TomTom app can announce what it wants when it likes.
+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.
Should give you an idea as to what you can get from the iPhone app over Bluetooth when connected to a car hardsfree kit that doesn't have a delay when switching to A2DP - Mike

I have the exact same problem with my Parrot MKi 9200, the only way around it for me is to play the music via bluetooth and not have it plugged in at all.
I'm going to swap my Parrot lead for a charging lead

Problem solved my friend.
No need to change your Parrot.
The Sat Nav app(in my case Tom Tom) needs the music player gateway to push the voice through, in other words the music needs to be playing all the time your using the Nav app.
The answer....Download a silent MP3 track from the net and just play it on a loop so you are playing music but with no sound so the nice lady on the Sat Nav app comes through loud and clear.
Nice.

I can see how that can work but......
That won't work for me personally as I sometimes want to switch to radio & not silent, in which case the sat nav voice still won't work when physically plugged in to the Parrot.
Easier for me to just play music through bluetooth & not physically plugged in to the Parrot, then when I pause that & the radio comes on, sat nav voice still works then

If you watch and listen to my video clip of the TomTom app in use the nav audio and speed camera warnings are being played via Bluetooth through the car speakers via an iO-Play, the music is playing from the stereo (a memory stick).
Getting the A2DP connection to work really depends upon how fast the BT kit can switch in and out, the iO-Play is fast and works really well. I wasn't using the silent mp3 track work around and neither was the music playing from the iPhone.

If anyone wants to know how to get spoken camera alerts on their TT app let me know as it's quite simple to do and doesn't require any hacking of the iPhone, it certainly doesn't involve Jailbreaking the device - Mike

ally, Do you want spoken alerts for the 530 or the iPhone TomTom app? and which speed camera database are you using as I am not too sure it's possible to use the spoken alerts with the TomTom supplied safety camera database - I use a third party database from PGPSW on the iPhone and the standalone nav units - Mike

It's for the TT app Mike, it's just got the standard TT alerts that came with it, I used to get speed camera updates from PGPSW before, when I had my old TT One.

Ally, send me a PM with your e-mail as the forum limit for a set of these files is too small, you will also need a set of Speed Zoned UK PGPSW ov2 files and the software DiskAid to load them to your iPhone unless it's jail Broken - Mike
