Auto Protect
Hi,
my warranty that came with the car is up for renewal. Has anybody had experience of this company. I've always thought these warranties are usually not worth the paper they are written tbh The cost for renewal is £399 for 1 year , £599 for 2 thanks Russell

Put the money in a bank/saving a/c:~
Keep it for a rainy just incase you do have some heavier expenditure on the car- find a descent independent garage for the jobs you don't want to do yourself. Bob. |

Auto protect are OK, worth looking at Car Care Plan too, as they underwrite a lot of manufacturers schemes. Very important to check what the allowable hourly labour is too

I've never extended a warranty in my life on a car - or anything else for that matter - and never regretted it.
It's a gamble, but one weighted well in your favour if the car is maintained and treated properly.

I got AA breakdown cover for my car for £4 a month as my car and home insurance is also with them so I got a good offer. On top of that I got breakdown repair assist for an additional £9 per month which offers the first £500 towards repair bills up to 5 max claims per year, so all in its only costing me £13 a month.
I've yet to make a claim so I can't comment on the service but I can't imagine many repairs costing in excess of that amount unless it's something catastrophic like engine or gearbox. Perhaps you could look into that as it works out much cheaper than an extended warranty package, and you get the breakdown cover as well. I might be getting a decent discount by having car and home insurance with them but I'm sure without them it'd still be cheaper. |
