Smile Help please! - How many belts do I need to replace?

I have recently purchased a late 2015 XC60 D5 Geartronic with 76k on the clock.

Reading on here I see that the cambelt is good for 108k miles but the aux belt(s) should be replaced at 54k. I'm not convinced this has actually been done even though the belts look OK so have booked it in to the Dealer on Weds to get it done for peace of mind.

My question is how many belts are there to replace? Looks like 2 to me - alternator and power steering? Also do any pulleys/tensioners need replacing at the same or just the belt or belts?

Thanks in anticipation.

So Main Dealer has told me only one aux belt on my XC60 but this pic clearly shows 2 belts doesn't it? Neither of them look like the cam belt so I'm assuming one alternator one compressor/power steering pump? They also said belt AND tensioner should be done at 54k miles and tensioner does not wait until 108k with timing belt.

I have just done an interim aux belt change on one of our D5s, plus the AC pump belt, which had a bit of a squeal.

...so 3, yes

have you got the volvo 5 cylinder diesel or the new 4 cylinder 2.0 Volvo diesel ( VEA ) engine ? from what you say i guess it is a 5 cylinder ?

If so they are wrong and the aux belt change at 54000 miles does NOT have the tensioner changed , that is indeed done at 108000 miles , but if you are unsure of its history and recall record I would change it this time.

some versions have a stretch belt for the AC pump as you pointed out

you cant really tell the condition of the belts visually , they don't fall apart or fray being of the very highest quality .

Yes 5 cylinder D5. I'm not going to be happy with them leaving the aircon belt though surely better to do it at same time?

Cost me £29.50 for genuine Volvo belt, plus about a tenner for fitting. May as well, but I only did it because noisy at nearly 140k miles.

Thought I would add my recent experience.
My outer serpentine belt (5244t12 engine 2015) was changed at 3rd service at 26000 miles in 2018, which was the scheduled time, as it is due every 54000 miles or 3 years
However, I then end up with that outer belt needing changing again 54000 later which is 80000 miles, which I havnt got to, or another three years, which was last year.....

I think I will have all three belts and various pulleys and tensioners done at the same time next year. The water pump can stay, as recommended by clan.

How do you change the stretch belt for the aircon? Is it as simple as just prying it off the pulley?

It is very tight there is a special tool which helps you wind it off and on .
