Default New S60 Owner- Some issues

Hi all,
I've just purchased my first Volvo, a 05 D5 Manual. Its a great car and is all I thought it would be. However there are a couple of issues that I'd like to fix to make the car perform as it should. Seeing as there are loads of knowledgeable people on here I hope you will be able to help me.

I get the Park Assist Service Required message on the dash and the LED on the button in the centre console is OFF except for a split second when turning the ignition on
After searching this forum I've tried the following

-checked all fuses
-checked the wiring to the PA ECU in the boot
-Tried unplugging and replugging the PA ECU
-Listened for clicks or vibrations from each of the sensors, nothing.

I had the car in for a major service at one of the recommended independents in the Birmingham area and when he hooked up his diagnostic he couldn't find any error codes set for the PA system, which I find really strange.

I'd appreciate any pointers to fix this puzzling issue, the car is quite a lot bigger than I'm normally used to and I could use some help!

Thank you.

It doesn't sound like your independent has the appropriate diagnostic gear to
Solve the issue. The fact you are getting a dim message means there is a fault code stored you need the volvo vida system to read the specific volvo codes and then you can repair the problem.

I second that advice.

However I also had the same issue a few months after having had my S60. My local dealer brought up the fault code, and it was traced to a faulty sensor. Apparently the system resets itself every time you insert the key (although the codes SHOULD be stored), and if there is a faulty sensor it will throw up this message on the dash which is what I was getting. However having said that, I thought I was into a new sensor which I believe can be quite costly but since the fault code was cleared, no more problems!

I've always hated electrics!!!

Thanks guys. Frustrating that the Indy doesn't seem to have the right kit. He comes very well recommended from various Volvo forums and the service wasn't exactly cheap. Looks like I won't be going there again.

Inevitably the next question is where I can get a proper Volvo diagnostic done. I don't really want to go to my local dealers and bend over.
Any members in the Warwickshire area that can kindly help me out?
