Bosch Spot and Fog
Picked these up for PV recently,old style Bosch spot and fog lamps. Just need to find some 6 volt H3 halogen light bulbs and then figure out the best way to mount them!

Although I've had them mounted a while i never got round to wiring them. I have a switch and a pair of 6 volt relays. What gauge cable should I use?

On the "output" side of the relay and the fused power supply to it, use the heaviest cable you can find - ammeter cable is fine. You need greater capacity because the current carried will be at least double that for 12v lights.

Arcturus;
Calculate expected circuit Current from Wattage rating of lamp element: I = P/V , then look up minimum recommended wire gauge/cm2 on a chart such as found here: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/wi...ges-d_419.html Remember to consider the entire circuit current path, to assure it is capable of safety passing the load current. Spot and Fog Lights should be on separate circuits, with separate controls because you never want them on at the same time. Cheers |
