Might be wrong but I can't recall any progress info showing whilst updating via USB stick, OTA does.

Mine definately gives me a progress percentage when updating from a USB stick. The whole Europe maps stops at 55%-60% by the time I get to work (25 minute drive) and then resumes from that point for the drive home.

Doing them one at a time - the app complains if you try to download another map to a stick that's already got something on it.

Exactly this. I've never succeeded with single country updates.

64gb USB stick, download full europe map to USB (takes awhile to download about 55gb) but takes 45 minutes to update the maps in the car.

Thanks for your suggestion Franko1960 - that worked. Interestingly, I took a look at the files downloaded - completely different to the set of .zip files you get when you try to download an individual map. Phoned Volvo on this and they too suggested downloading the entire European map - I asked why the option was there to download individual regions if they don't work - no answer. Go figure. Anyway, thanks everyone. Valencia here I come!

Yeh it can take forever, I just leave the stick in till I get a message saying the car needs to turn off then back on for new maps to work. Sometimes can be quick and sometimes can take days. When I download the hole of Western Europe it was really quick? Then sometimes I get the UK update when I’m not expecting it because it’s done the OTR update using my house WiFi.
