Have no idea what you are all expecting the in car app to do, when i had sensus don't remember it doing anything.

It made no difference to On Call / SOS or the phone app working if i was signed into the app on the screen in the car.

On AAOS you sign in with your ID and that's it you have signed in.

Yeah that's the point, you sign into the car/tie the car to a specific Volvo ID. It's not that were expecting more functionality because as you said, On Call/SOS are completely separate, the problem is even when you verify the connection it doesn't add the car to your Volvo ID account and nor does the car recognise the connection, yet it used to and I could see the car in my Volvo ID account.

As previously mentioned, the car is tied to a single Volvo ID, but of course multiple users each with their own Volvo ID can be connected to the car, so the activation is designed to tie the car to the owner.

I got a reply to my ticket with Volvo ….

Our internal technical team have gotten back to me and let me know that they believe that this application pop up showing on your infotainment screen is now redundant due to upgrades that have taken place on the App over time. To remove the notification, it is likely the infotainment unit will need to be factory reset from the Settings page and then when set up, leave the App on the system be and refer to the App on your phone only when it comes to checking if the Pair has been successful.

As the notification is not an issue, you can choose to not perform the factory reset, if you would prefer to keep all of your details on your car's memory and not have to return to factory settings….

So looks like the VolvoID on car is no longer required or needed as long as the app on smartphone is working and synched to the car.

So they have removed the requirement and/or method to tie the car to the Volvo ID yet left corrupt functionality in and the only way to resolve is to factory reset. What an utter joke.

Surely that doesn't explain why we can't see the vehicles tied to the Volvo ID account though under resources? Both my V60 and XC60 used to be there but now aren't.

I forgot to ask @giftgrub100,

Are you saying you're currently signed in/tied to an AAOS based vehicle?

If so, what does the car display to show this? Does it show your email address and say connected?

Also, if you look online at your Volvo ID account, does it show your car under 'Your Resources'?

Yelper, have you had a look on https://www.volvocars.com/uk/. In the top R/H corner click on the little person icon. Log into the Volvo Portal then go back and click on the Icon again, in the drop down menu select My Cars and see if your car(s) are there.

Hi @MikeGMT,

Yes I can see the XC60 in there, but I don't see my V60. The XC60 is probably from when we first tied it to the account when we purchased it.

I definitely used to be able to see the cars in my Volvo ID account as well so clearly something has changed, but it doesn't get around the fact the cars still state they're not tied to any Volvo ID, plus there's no sign of the V60

Yes- signed in on an AAOS - it shows as signed into a Volvo account in the accounts section of the car, where it also shows if signed into Google Under Profiles Accounts section.

Nothing in the online Volvo ID account (forgot it existed), shows the cars I am connected to in the app. (do remember it used to have cars in resources but no need now as they are all in the app.

That's very interesting that AAOS is working and Sensus not as the assumption was all variants would be affected, but clearly not.

Do you remember when you registered if you got an email with a link to login to your Volvo ID like you do on the Sensus versions or did it link it via the app? Or, did you purely enter your Volvo ID email and it linked it behind the scenes including adding the car to the app?

Sensus and AAOS are different beasts so handle things differently, but at the end of the day if the app is working and On Call / SOS is working then you are not missing anything.

When we has Sensus it still did nothing when you signed into screen app in the car, don't think it ever showed anything, on AAOS you can see if your signed in.

On the app there should be no difference if you have cars connected to the app you should be able to see them in the connected cars section, advantage of Sensus cars you can sign in on Iphone Ipad etc and any connections you have are already there, with AAOS you have to physically have the phone in the car to connect and it only connects to that device as it uses bluetooth to connect the app to the car first, then data after that.

I don't think anything is missing or any options are no longer available, they have moved the resources to the mobile app rather than having to go to desktop sign in process and you can do everything from the phone.
