At the time that I got my 2020 R-Design V90, the dealer advised me that the USB socket to use is the RH side one, with a white surround, as that is the Android Auto USB socket.

By happy coincidence, that is also what the online manual says

Mine had both USB ports but did not have the smartphone prep until I paid for it.

Same situation with my previous V90. I declined to pay for the option on my current V90. As I wasnt impressed with the half screen apple map display.
