Air Vacuum hose resolved - more pull
I looked at the right-angled air vacuum hose connectors on the 1.8 Petrol V40 today.
I was curious why it was "lacking power" compared to my other V40 (same model). I found the problem. When I pulled off the rubber right angled end connectors to the air filter housing, the top pipe appeared to have a burred over hole where the plastic pipe had been factory cut, probably with a blunt tool. The thin plastic vacuum pipes are quite solid so I took off the large burred over edge with a Stanley knife to re-create a fully open vacuum pipe hole. I reconnected to the air filter housing, started up and its now running really well, and pulls so much better. This is such a simple fix, and worth checking if you have the same "lack of engine power".
