Default Servicing In North Of Scotland

So far despite best efforts I cannot see a dealer/specialist in the north of scotland. I am looking at a 7 year service only done 44k by the time it needs its service and am not sure whether I should just have the essential service of the full shibang? Best offer so far is 10% off for being a member of the VOC however I note a company called "prestige car servicing" does anyone know anything about them? Basically looking around as much as poss to get the best deal. Anyone help?
cheers

How far north?

I use Arnold Clark Volvo in Inverness. I only deal with the service manager David McDonald after a bit of a carry on, but I am always well looked after. Their prices are fairly cheap too.

Also in Inverness is Ian Cattanach a Volvo specialist. I have never used him but a few of my collegues have bought and serviced cars through him and only have good things to say about him.

There is another bloke who has a garage out near Craigellachie, near Elgin. Although he isn't a specialist he has a very good reputation and looks after a few of my friends Volvos

Ron Sealey in Cowdenbeath is top notch.

He may be a bit far south for you, but he will do the job in a day and loan you a car so you could pop into Edinburgh for some shopping. He will do a full sevice for around £150 but will then do a thorough check and do anything else you wish. His workshop is immaculate!

I live in Fort William and am quite happy to do the 240 mile round trip to get the best and at very good prices.

I had a full service done with him last week, when I had just got into the house I received a call from Ron asking how the return trip went and was the car running OK! - brilliant customer service!

I have an 8 year old V70 estate with 100k on the clock.

His phone number is 01383 611144. Mention Terry from Fort William.

Cheers, Terry

Arnold clarke Inverness was the one quoting me £205 for a full service and £117 for an essential service. The carry on you mention is interesting, my nearest is Aberdeen arnie clarke and they quoted £260 for full service. Interesting, same company, volvo to boot and prices different???
I will google Ian Cattanach and see whats what. I have had a price for a FULL SERVICE from an independant in Elgin for £160. Will pm you to check the name

Ron sealey is a Volvo specialist independant. He worked for Volvo for 25 years as a Technician and then for 7 years running a mobile mechanic workshop.

I think his full service is £145, though in addition I had a good deal more preventative maintenance done such as plugs, fluid changes, (brake and ATM), timing and auxilliary belts and tensioners change, pollen filter, fuel filter and new rear discs and pads). All Volvo products.

He was also good enough to throw in an oil filter to use on my next intermediate 5k oil change which I will do myself and also a can of Volvo injector cleaner to add to my juice.

Cheers, Terry

Hi, I will give him a bell tomorrow afternoon. It seems then that i am destined to at least a 2hr trip one way to get a decent "volvo price" for a service. You would have thought that someone near Aberdeen would do it?
cheers 4 the info Terry
Keith

Just come off the phone from Ron himself and seems a good lad all round. Bit more expensive for me as its a T5 GT auto, however it sounds cool to me (the all round package) I will also try that Ian mechanic in the previous comment from DavieC to see whats what. Terry he certainly knew you! lol

Really Keith......tell me more!!

Also let me know how your dealings with Ian Cattanach goes since he is nearer to me than Ron, though I am very happy with the quality of Rons work.

You are right, Ron is a very sound guy.

Cheers, Terry
