Default Genuine volvo 940 rear side window aerial

Hi
Has anyone managed to use the factory fitted rear side window aerial for DAB, or do I have to add something like the Autoleads DAB Film Antenna SMB - DAB-AA1?

TIA

A DAB aerial comes with an amplifier to work with the specific type of DAB aerial supplied, sometimes they are combined in one unit but will need a 12 volt supply and earth as well.

I have used one of these to share an unamplified external FM aerial with DAB on a different classic. It works in strong signal areas, not so well with a weaker DAB signal.

You may have to enable the +12V aerial supply option on the head unit.

The potential problem with the Volvo rear window aerial may well be the original amplification. This is unlikely to be compatible with DAB; but then for a tenner for the adapter it might be worth a try.

Yes, I agree, Forrest.
My memory is telling me from a long time ago that there was a separate black wire with the aerial cable near the head unit, although I didn't connect it at the time.

I wonder where I can find information about the existing window aerial.

Anyone?
