Default False Alarm Operation

2004 S80 D5 Se !05K

Car just passed MOT test reqd only one sidelight/parking bulb plus one number plate bulb. However whether by coincidence or not the car alarm now operates anything from one hour to four hours after doors being locked.
I always ensure air vents are closed and have ditched air refresher tree just in case. The siren sounds loud and clear and the main battery appears in good nick. Have also tried disabling tilt/vibration feature to no avail
This happens whether locking with remote or key.

Someone suggested battery volt drop after a while might cause it.

Anyone got any other ideas what might cause this.

usually this is down to the mass movement sensor (in the roof) there has been a few upgrades to the sensor.

worth checking the activation codes though first.

Thanks Grasshopper. Have now read previous posts on this to which you have contributed and have a fair idea now about this problem. Will have codes read for a start.

1) Check the bump stops on the bonnet. On my 2004 V70 they had unscrewed just enough to hold the bonnet up enough that the alarm activated randomly. Screwed them back in and all solved.

2) Do you get "alarm service " message on DIM? If so, (or maybe even if not) the rechargable battery in the alarm module (behind driver side front wing/arch) may be dying. A search will reveal a few threads on this subject.
