Ah but this is a Jubilee model! Worth all of £2195 more than the standard one in that condition!

It is pretty rough though and the lack of engine and box don't help its cause i have to admit.

Bizarre - a tax and MoT test exempt motor car with no engine or gearbox!

:-)

And not only did the joker buy a car with no V5, he's trying to sell it without one!

It looks like a scrapyard. The proprietor may have sold the engine and gearbox before he/she realised someone might be foolish enough to pay over the odds for an old motor car with a few extra bits of trim and badges.

It is hard to imagine that anyone would pay over scrap value for this one - the market will tell us whether that is right or not pretty soon :-).

Never underestimate the public’s capacity for stupidity in buying. It’s made some people very wealthy! 🤷

I don't think you are right in this case Andrew. This isn't a mainstream item that would interest Joe Public, rather it is an already pretty obscure 40-odd year old motor car with a few special bits of trim that only a handful of people in the country would appreciate - and I would wager most of them subscribe to this forum.

This is just my opinion of course; the market will tell us whether there is a special value to this scrapper in due course. If I'm right it will be for sale longer than the V8 project (which must be approaching its anniversary soon), if I'm wrong then some lucky owner will snap it up in the next few days.

:-)

You could be right! It’s not catering for mass market stupidity, of course not but some people buy some very strange things at crazy prices.

I think in this case the potential market will be tiny and also well informed. I really can’t imagine many (if any) folk will be keen to spend over 2 grand on a rusty 45 year old motor car with missing engine, gearbox and steering with no provenance just for the sake of 5 badges (assuming they are all there).

This one is scrap, but the badges and shiny bits have a value.
