C30 1.6 turbo oil seals
Hi I am new to the forum after I got my 2010 C30 1.6 Dive e. I love it! Only had it 2 weeks and thought I would do the overdue service myself - Oil + filter, air filter and fuel filter. Difficult access to the oil filter until I moved the air filter housing. And of course I needed the non return pump to prime the new fuel filter, thank you to the forum for the steer on how to do this. Also had fun removing all the undertrays for inspection.
Whilst doing the service I did note a bit of oil seepage from the outlet and inlet intercooler pipes. The offside one above the alternator has spilt a small amount onto it. And the near side lower section has been seeping a small amount down the outside of the pipe. Additionally there was a small amount noticed internally at the air filter entry point and also a small amount of black sooty deposits on the outer exhaust section of the turbo. I assume the oil seals have a small leak? Aside from this the car drives smooth and fairly powerful for a 1.6 and there are no coughs or splutters and or exhaust smoke. I guess I would appreciate any wisdom others might have on the topic. And reassurance that I don't need to panic and think about a new turbo. Thank you in advance for any responses and regards Solent |
