Fuel leak from breather line
Hello,
Was on holiday over the past few days and when parked at a car park I noticed a puddle under my car. It was dripping from the rear drivers side and was definitely diesel. I had a fairly full fuel tank and was parked on a hill, with the rear facing down the hill. I went under the car and tried to work out where the leak was and think I have narrowed it down to the fuel breather tube - highlighted in yellow in the attached diagram and circled in the photos. It comes out of the tank above the main large tube, and follows the main tube up to the filler cap, where it joins the main tube. There is also a further tube which also follows the main filler tube up, however this doesn't join the main tube and is open at the top. Fairly certain this the overflow pipe? I couldn't find any evidence of this leaking. The breather pipe had a bit of play in it and was resting on the chassis above so I believe that movement whilst driving over the years has formed a hole. It did not appear to be leaking from the connector. This is the circled pipe in the photos, don't know whether the problem is related to the white section of the tube. However, my understanding was that this tube shouldn't have fuel in it? Isn't there meant to be a valve as only air should be passing through the breather tube? Any thoughts on what the issue is and how to fix it would be appreciated. |

Afternoon - did you track down the source of this leak?
I seem to be having the same issue. Thanks |
