So actually felt up to doing something this am, early call from my consultant oncologist got me fired up so....
Took the goddess down to Adam's Tyres and Mot Centre in March to sort out her tracking and replace the blown tyre. After a quick inspection it turns out I need two tyres since rear nearside had a bulge the size of a satsuma in the tyre wall that blind pugh.. (that's me).. failed to spot. Had a good conversation with Adam on what tyres to put on and since she's shod in Firestones atm and they seem okay to me I have stuck with them So she's booked in for Friday for new shoes and alignment so it's S80 V8 Vroom Vroom time till then |

Okay here's a quick update on Volvo life this week, as posted Fat Slag #1 gets new shoes for two of her feet tomorrow and I may have found two front door cards to replace my carpet covered ones ..
I will post pics tomorrow if I can remember to put the camera in my bag and assuming my fingers are working... Chemotherapy side effects of pins and needles are back with a vengeance on this second time round! Anyhow I may have bagged them for a trip down to Southampton to pick them up in exchange for a blast in the S80 V8 seems you can trade a ride for more than just gass, grass or ass! So okay the fuels going to cost me but hey chance to give Fat Slag #2 a good run will be fun and almost wrinkle free front door cards for Fat Slag #1 would be a result! Here's hoping I am up for the journey? Oh and BTW has anyone tried these top edge panel repair covers do they fit okay and look okay? Last edited by nemesisthewarlock; Feb 10th, 2022 at 20:33. |

Sorry double posted damn my sausage fingers
Just got to get myself back to some kind of near normal so I can collect my replacement front cards from Southampton 🤔 But before that I have to replace the offside wing mirror glass on my S80 that fell off.. Apparently it was a stick on one over old cracked mirror glass.. So when my fringres are working it will be out with the isopropyl and try to clean the old glue off then stick on the replacement glass as a temporary cheap fix 🤗 Last edited by nemesisthewarlock; Feb 13th, 2022 at 11:14. |

You've covered the door vent to the window! You can buy replacement door mirror glasses with the heating elements built in. Remove the plastic backing frame from the mirror assembly complete with broken original door glass, use a hairdryer or heat gun to warm it up and slowly but carefully peel the plastic frame off then fit the new glass directly to the plastic frame, connect the wires to the glass and refit the frame to the mirror housing. Looks and works much better than a stick on replacement UNHEATED glass! PS - probably not the easiest if you're suffering nuns and poodles in your fingers so wait for a day when it subsides, it'll be worth it!

As for the mirror glass, you'll pay handsomely for their time faffing about with a heat gun etc - better to wait until you can do it yourself.

I was genuinely worried that you had actually done that Did he have a little miniature 3 piece suite that he used to sit on it

It's the mitre joints that get me, so poorly done. Also the end not trimmed and fraying. Much rather a nice piece of vinyl or leather glued on top.
Used replacements is what I did too on my 940. James |
