Glad you approve of Addenbrookes, i haven't had such a positive experience there but the Royal Papworth was good (aka the Starship Enterprise) except i went there for diagnostic confirmation of one condition and found not only did i have that but another and left with an unexpected "free gift" of what i believe was a mild dose of the Kung Flu. That said the staff were excellent, no tea/coffee or biccies though!
Route goes to Chatteris, across to Sutton and Earith, down to Willingham, across to Bar Hill A14 to M11 to A10 jnct to Cambridge and Addenbrookes.

45 mins by Volvo just under an hour by Ambulance...

I had a couple of nights in Addenbrookes after someone ran a red light and knocked me off my bike in Cambridge. I later took legal action against the driver, and my solicitor contacted the hospital for a medical report. We were a bit baffled by the reply: the letter stated that they had no record of either me or the doctor who stitched me up - but then set out dates of admission and discharge, and a summary of injuries sustained. On the positive side, the doctor who didn't exist made an excellent job of the stitches he didn't do.

You might be relieved to hear that that was 30 years ago. Hopefully their record-keeping's more reliable these days.

Hope the treatment is a complete success: keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Well they use a system that seems to work and links to my GPs system so they can pull data from the GP, just not the other way round so poor GP has to wait for a letter!

Meantime online access for me lets me see details of tests, results, past and future appointments and even track my past results and display them graphically!

Having suffered under Hinchingbrooke at Huntingdon, Addenbrookes is streets ahead ... so fringers, leghies and eyes crossed for my future in their hands.

Stil only suffering Pins and Noodles as Side Effectys so far that's a win in my book too

Well Tomorrow I have to take Fat Slag 1 out as I have an appointment at the GP... Diabetic Nurse has told me I am no longer a Type II Diabetic and I was going to stop my Metformin.

However Chemotherapy wrecks havoc on your blood sugars so with my first week of Chemo ending on Wednesday I will be interested in what my blood sugar levels are?

Anyhow I wonder if anyone can recommend some warm, comfortable and not bulky gloves? I am suffering extreme Pins and Needles especial on house and car door handles.

It would be nice to have some thing I can drive in, fish keys out of my pocket with, open and close doors in and still keep my poor fingers warm.

Don't get me started on making tea when the milk carton turns your fingers numb! But that's another issue... need to look up gloves to cook in that keep your hands warm!

So soft, warm and subtle give me your glove recommendations..

Please note I won't need a flat cap since I tend to sport this Volvo cap outside...

If you want real warmth and comfort get a ‘norgie’ vest. Grade A from eBay.

So warm and so comfortable. I find they keep me warm all over!

Here you are Ben - paw-warmers!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181029272...r=480202598793

Yes they are less tactile than your fingers but more tactile than most other gloves but they do keep your paws warm! I use one of pair when i take my pooch if it's below 10C to keep one paw warm.

Totally confused about you no longer being Type 2 diabetic, when i was diagnosed there wasn't the option to be no longer, once you were Type 2 then you were Type 2 for life. That said the limits for being diabetic were much higher and changed to a lower figure soon after i was diagnosed. Since then the "possibility" to become "not diabetic" has appeared - at the time i knew it to be "pre-diabetic" - is this the same thing?

Some thin , thermal work gloves can be very good. A bit out of touch these days but may be worth a bit of research.

Where did you get that CAP?😎

Well my low fibre diet together with a loss of 7 kilos have helped with the Diabetes in old parlance I am now 5.4 so non-diabetic /pre-diabetic depending on your doctor/nurse.. and their interpretation.

I am not quite on a Keto Diet but I do eat a lot of protein, unfortunately I still can't eat high fibre vegetables so carrots and tomatoes (I know fruit!) are about it lettuce, cabbage, sprouts, too many onions and jacket potatoes are killers and crease me up in pain!

Anyhow thanks for the Glove recommendation ordering now!

So not a bad day today at all, got up, had a shower! took my multiple chemo tablets and "normal tablets", had a snooze whilst gently steaming dry and then left for my appointment with the Nurse in good time.

And what a good time, Fat Slag #1 started first turn and soon settled down to that straight six purr, we wafted about for twenty odd mins whilst myself and the 960 Goddess got warm.

She still remains a real treat to drive and a feast for the eyes... I know some think the series II 960s are not proper Volvos/Volvii? But, by heck she's pretty for a big girl.

Anyhow got to the Doctors weight and blood pressure checked out in 10mins and then time for another pootle! Blissfully eating up the miles I spent another hour just enjoying the car

Got home to a message from Swaffham, my S80s' front subframe has arrived so if anyone fancies giving me a lift from Swaffham to Doddington tomorrow let me know

Otherwise I may have to Uber it home

Anyhow a good day Fat Slag #1 Fantastic, Fat Slag #2 about to get her undercarriage sorted!!

Like I say a good day
