Second gear surely?

They certainly get a few surprises when they come up behind a few big old Volvos (or Rovers come to that) when said quarry responds a lot faster than they could ever imagine - or compete with!

I thought you had floored it when you got to the end of the 30 limit? That would have kicked down into 2nd which should take you to ~80 ish without any worries, 1st runs out about 45-50 ish and 3rd is good for 120 ish i believe.

Racing Subaru Imprezza's through your local village at 80mph isn't really a great idea

I had a couple of Scoobs ( via a friend ) and they were seriously quick( under 5 secs 0-60 ) so I'm surprised you left him for dead

It probably wasn't a turbo model Mark, even my Rover struggles against those! The 760 has no chance but on the cooking models, both cars have no trouble leaving them in the exhaust fumes and 90 degee V6 howl!

Picture was for illustrative Scooby Fugglyness only what type of Fuggly Impressa it was escaped my brain ... and no I wasn't doing 80 through my village I escaped the village and floored it when the national speed limit appeared

Although coff coff 80 may have been achieved quite rapidly at some point .. coff coff indeed maybe a tad over that too at one point ..

I think Ben hs been a bit naughty here, the one in the pic is definitely an STI so would be turbo, however given the angle the shot was taken from (tail camera of a car in the outer lane or front cam in an oncoming car) i doubt that was the one tailgating him so the chances are it was a n/asp 2.0 Impreza saloon. May even have been a n/asp Forester, they look the same from the front especially in the mirror - someone i know from dog-walking has a grey Forester 2.0D (think it's a turbo diesel but that's being picky) and that looks near identical to the one in the pic further up.

Obviously there are no cooking model Impreza WRX STi versions but there are cooking model Imprezas.
