Default Intermitent Bulb failure light on dash board

I had the Orange bulb failure light on my dash so after checking i had two back bulbs blown.
I replaced both of them which the orange bulb failure light then went off on the dash but everytime i press the brake pedal the orange bulb failure light comes on until i release the brake pedal, any ideas please how to cure this?
I have checked the contacts, fuses etc today.

It means one of your brake light bulbs is blown You'll need to back up to something reflective, or get a volunteer to stand behind you, to find out which one is out.

What do you mean dual filament? originally i had to replace 1 of the back sidelight/headlight bulbs, 1 on either side today.

IIRC, the rear lights are dual filament bulbs, one filament is for the tail light, one is for the brake light. If I'm correct, and you've only used a single filament bulb then that would explain why the ordinary light works but the brake light does not. Easy to tell, does the brake light emit from the same location as one of the normal tail light bulbs? I'd go look outside at my own, but it's pishing down here!

eh?...

If you are having issues with your brake light warning bulb i would replace BOTH brake bulbs with new ones from the same manufacture...This is obviously if both lamps are on when pedal is depressed...
Something to do with resistance..one of the leccy tecs may explain...

Checking online, the outer tail light bulb on each side should be dual filamet, one filament for the tail light, one for the brake light, should be a 382 P21W bulb, as opposed to a single filament 207 5w bulb.

So to clarify, the reason your warning light came on is because the bulb had blown?.....
