Default 2022 V60 - First service date

Good morning! I have a V60 which I collected at the end of March 2022. Before collecting the car I understood the car sat for a period of time before I actually collected it.

I'm seeing prompts on the computer that I am overdue my service (5th February is the date of the service).

Does anyone know when the timer should start for the service? I was assuming it should be for when I collected the car and the mileage started increasing. I called my local dealership who said the timer starts when the car is manufactured but that doesn't sound correct to me based on other cars I have owned.

For context, the car is leased so this has an impact on the number of services I'd need to have before handing the car back. If it's based on when I collected the car (as I'd expect) then I'd only need 1 service rather than 2.

They are wrong, The timer starts at the Pre Delivery Inspection when it is reset to zero. best to do what the service message advises as this is what all the paperwork will count from.

Your dealer is incorrect; the service interval timer will have been reset as part of the car's Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) rather than on manufacture.

As the car was sat for a period of time prior to collection it's possible that the PDI was performed prior to this period, which would explain the 'early' service notifications.

As mentioned counters should have been set as part of the PDI, assuming the PDI has been done.

You'd be amazed how many cars, I'm not talking just Volvo, go out without stamps in the book or in the electronic service record for the PDI.
