Default S80 queries from new owner

Hi all,

New volvo owner (2000 S80(140bhp) ) and new member to this forum.

A couple of questions on the s80.

I am experiencing a shudder from the engine when i switch the ignition
off. is this normal?, i also get a similar shudder when reversing. Another issue i have is with the clutch pedal, the biting point seems very high.
Could these all be related to the clutch slipping, has anyone else suffered similar problems.

Also, i didn't expect the 140bhp model to feel so under powered, is this the same engine as the 170bhp model, and can the managment system be reprogrammed to give 170bhp. i think the car really needs the extra oomph and from the little fuel that is saved, i think it'd be worth it.
