Sorry lol!

As much as I hate Admiral with a passion (SH*T CS when switching cars) they do have good prices on their multi-car.

My Dad, in his 50s, clean license and no claims for 15+ years, S40 T4 - £220

My Mum, late 40s, clean license and no claims for 15+ years, S40 T5 - £250

My sister (this one confuses me) 19! 2 years driving and 2 years no claims, renault clio 1.2 - £350?!?!?

I wish I had insurance that cheap after two years driving....

and me, S40 T4, 21, 4 years driving, 4 years no claims .... £630 something

It seems the more cars you have on it the better it gets.

£1500 insured our whole family and that's 3 high performance cars and a clio....Pretty good I would say!

4 years no claims helps explain it a bit better lol but even so £600 + ... so jealous!! lol. Not that I'm not content with a 1.8 at 20 years old, just remember how fun our T4 was

I asked how much it would be if I had a claim this year, with 3 (at the time) years no claims I would get reduced to 1 years no claims and with a hypothetical £1000 payout to some other guy my premium would be £750?!

£750 for a T4 at 21 with 1 year no claims?! That still seems too cheap to me lol.

Not really sure why I asked them, can't help to know how much it'll cost me in the future if the worst came to the worst and the T4 got involved in a bump.

I'm guessing the whole no claim stuff only adds a massive amount on when you're younger. Once you've been driving a few years I don't think it makes THAT much difference. I expect a claim at 17-18 years of age would produce crippling premiums...

Overall can't complain

Nice to have another 21 year old T4 owner

So, do you get mocked by your buddies for driving a Volvo?!

What I hate most about the s40 isnt really the s40's fault at all but the rubber it's come with. I've got Hancock Optimo 415's on at the moment and while they are good in the dry they are absolutely diabolical in the wet with the nose pushing wide and drifing everywhere. I certainly cant tackle a round-about in the wet with any confidence at all The sooner I get wet weather rubber on it the better!

Outside of that I'd say the wind-screen wipers just arent fast enough!

T4?

I don't know much about tyres but I'm assuming they're meant to be good ones? My T4s a bit twitchy in the rain as well. It can get quite scary!

I thought of another annoying thing - The reflection you get from the dash is terrible on sunny days! I had a crappy Corsa complete with shiny black plastic all round and it didn't reflect half as much as this leathery stuff - Quite off putting when driving!

Hi Alex. Nope mine's just a 1.8 which is why I was surprised when it first broke away. Having read reviews on the tyres themselves they have been critised for a lack of lateral grip in the wet. I'll drop some uniroyal rain-sports 2's on it (had those on the c30 before I sold it). They were excellent in the wet.

I agree with you about the dash reflections too! I had to laugh at one of the comments I read on this thread about clearing the windscreen in the mornings too. I set off down the road...exhaled and ARGH...had to pull over and wait 2 minutes for the mist to clear :P
