Anti-roll bar / stabiliser XC70
Hello
I have a 2004 XC70 with a 14mm diameter rear ARB and as this is my first "lifted" car it is occasionally a bit alarming when for example joining a motorway on a curved slip road (yes, yes, slow down...) On a previous car I have swapped out the ARB from a more sporty model and that really improved handling and I wondered if I could fit one from a similar age V70, believe there were 16mm, 19mm or 22mm available. I have looked in VIDA and I can't be sure if they are the same shape or would be possible to fit to my XC70. Has anyone done this? Is it reasonably easy for an amateur to do on a drive? And I know this will reduce the off-road abilities but that is not something I mind at all, I'm not ever going green laning. Cheers |

I once installed a 'junkyard' rear sway bar in my V70. It went in OK and it improved handling. I never measured its diameter.
Give www.ipdusa.com a look. They say their sway bars (anti-roll bars to y'all) are their signature item. There's a 3 panel, rotating message at the top of their homepage. One says, "Ask IPD". Go there and ask what you like. They are a good company with engaged people. |

I agree with simmy. An XC70 isn't a sports car. They're big and heavy, which means they lean in corners. Even if you do fit a sports style rollbar, it still won't make much difference.
