They are very similar to the original 1976 343 seats ( the 340 name only came after 1986!

Not sure on the detail but they just reminded me of them. I will try and get some pics but they won't be up for a few weeks as the car is being stored elsewhere at the moment.
Cheers Ken |

Doh! Forgot the one's thatthe previous owner sent me.
Here you go: Please bear in mind thatthe car is currently stored in a barn and hasn't seen a bucket and sponge in a good while. She is incredibly tidy. Do you see what I mean about the style of the front seats? Cheers Ken |

1983 model year I thought.
I see now Ken that the seats are like the 78MY V343, not sure when they changed them, but it was deffo before 1982. |

Best of luck with that car - it looks great. Green and brown is a lovely retro colour combo too!
Kind regards Lucien |

Glad I'm not the only one re: the seats. It would actually be interesting to get hold of a seat to see if they could be used as a source of spares.
Cheers Lucien, that is a real cool colour combo isn't it. I will be ordering a set of rear shocks for it soon and can't wait to crack on with it tbh. I will update the thread as I have more to report. There will need to be some fettling with regards to how the fuel pipes are set up and some brake overhaul and steering bush issues to rectify before an mot can be sought. Might also be a small amout of welding and electrical jobbies to do as well. Nothing over the top thankfully. All the best. Ken |

That's the same steering wheel too! The seats are similar but not the built in headrests as on the very first 343s. Lots of similar designs on it too, bumpers are not exactly the same but very similar, as is the use of nice stainless steel window trim.

66 gle est
I used to own a 1976 volvo 66gle estate, the seats and headrest were all as one all upholstry in cream cloth.coming from top of seat was the shape of the headrest then graduately shapeing shoulder and back of seat.those you have in yours are definately not original seats..If you are in any doubt atall click into the Daf Owners Club and see for yourself..After all the Volvo 66 is only a Daf with the Volvo Badge.. regards sunnyvic

They look like the seats out of my mums 79 343 - even the little vinyl sections on the squabs are the same.

sunnyvic,
Those seats definitely are original. The green 66 pictured above is a 1978 model. Your V66 from 1976 had the earlier style of seats. I've seen a 1979 Volvo 66 L (Dutch model, the UK didn't get such a low-spec version) and that had seats without head rests. |
