Default V60 late 2019: stripes on multifunc display

About 15..20 min after take off the multifunctional display started blinking and then stripes started fading in-out intermittently with random intervals. Eventually the display was all covered in stripes as on the picture. Stopped. Stripes gone off. Normal display. Driving 10 min later - no stripes, but occasional blinking of the whole display.

Googling brings up few reports of this problem. The cause remains unclear. Repair pricey and unclear if optimal. Probably replacing all dashboard.

Has anyone had a similar issue? What was the cause and how was it sorted?

TIA

you really need advice from your volvo dealer on this one. They may have a service bulletin about it . Sometimes it as simple as a software update. Is it serviced regularly with vovlo?

As it is a 2019 car I'd start with your local Volvo dealer, if their solution is a new dashboard with no contribution I'd take it to one of the growing cluster fix companies and let them take a look. It will possibly be a duff component under spec'd which they will find and replace with something more suitable. Looking at a few companies they have experience and offer repairs on earlier non-TFT screens, the ones with round speedo and rev counter displays. If this is an issue for newer digital displays they will find a fix which will remove the original manufactured issue. Fitting a replacement like for like is only kicking the can down the road if there is an inherent design flaw.
