for electrical issues / module repair you're not too far from these guys who have a good reputation

https://volvodiagnostic.com/

if you don't have any luck working it out could try dropping them an email and describing the symptoms, Lucas over there knows his stuff

Default electrical gremlins

Suffering similar problems with my 2007 V70 Jap import. Foglights out. red warning triangle on abs and engine management. Even a genuine Volvo VIDA software laptop could not get a signal. All points to body module. So no DIY diagnostic kit will find the fault. Sorry, but I have my motor in with my auto electrical shop for manual checking of the whole system

when I had trouble like this in a very similar V70, it was degraded insulation in the loom where it follows the tailgate hinge, just above the CEM mount point in the back. I spent a merry sunny day cutting out the bad loom and soldering in replacement, rathermore flexible wiring. All kinds of stuff started working better!

Ok say today I went to it and it barely turned over, checked the voltage and it was 11.2 volts, so jump started it, and left it connected to the other car, low and behold, clocks stayed on, everything else works, tested alternator with it running 14.3 volts coming out!
So I obviously need a new battery!!

Still only running on 4 cylinders though, I undone each electrical connector to each injector and 4 out of 5 made it splitter, but the one nearest to drivers side no change at all, so does anyone have a clue what that could be? Tried wiggling the connector no change, contacts look ok

i did suggest battery or voltage problems in posts 2 and 4 . great news that it been found that voltage was the problem . make sure to buy the correct battery as most volvos have a high demand for power and dont tolerate low or weak voltages
