Default V60 B5 Squeal

Hi Folks, new V60 B5 2022 purchased, happy as a happy thing, well until now, only had a week and noticed the car Squealing when engine turned off.
Also a vibration issue at motorway speeds.
Not wheel balancing as was done.
Taken back into volvo today and report was needs camshaft seals and vvt seals which was noise on shutdown... Really??? Would that not point to oil leaks instead ? Shocked that this major surgery needs doing on two years old and 24k. Anyone had similar plans?
Thanks

The seals they mention are likely internal seals resulting in lubrication not remaining where it should be inside the engine rather than external seals resulting in oil leaking on the outside of the engine and you seeing it.

As the engine shuts down the oil pressure that should remain in bearing areas and held by the failed seal will dissipate too quickly and be gone while camshafts etc are still rotating causing wear and the horrible squealing sound you are hearing.

Really not ideal but thankfully its been caught while still in warranty. Imagine this happening outside of warranty..............
