Stuck headlight washers

Hi All,
The headlight washers on my MY22 XC60 stay sticking out after I have used them.
I often find them both sticking out like antennae at the end of a journey.
How can they have failed so soon?
Does anyone have any idea as to how these could both become faulty at a similar time?
Could it be an electrical fault?
Does anyone else have the same problem?

Afaik, there is no electical connection to these. It's water pressure only that causes them to rise.
