Already is a nice car but it's like putting the marzipan on the Christmas cake after you've done the icing. Hindsight is wonderful as long as it's not too expensive! Good progress Mitch you're doing a nice job.

Let us know when you have dates. Do you both need a place to stay? We also have a cottage up on the north coast if you fancy going up there for a look? Only an hour from Aberdeen and a beautiful coast line with some beautiful villages.

Got my mojo back after a John H was up last weekend with his lovely 245. Finished off the welding on the OS front today and all the rust has been cut out and new metal welded in. Nick took the NS suspension off during the week and I took the OS off today and will be getting reconditioned before it goes back in.
I have a leak, assume it's the windscreen so all the carpet and insulation was stripped out and will need to redo them which annoyed me and I will repaint the floor as I used POR15 previously and it is rubbish so will use Jotun 80 followed by Jotun topcoat on the floor this time round. Will be painting the front suspension and front OS over the next couple of weeks so we can get the car back on the road asap. I've also got a big project up at our cottage I'm doing and away for work so pretty hectic at the moment trying to get everything done. |

Good-going, Mitch. I didn't realize you had those cracks in there.
(Good job with the pics/lighting too)

Not a bad weekend car bodging, got the front end stripped and nearly all the bits stripped down and started prepping them for painting. I didn't have a second box for the OS parts so had to leave them on the worktop as is.
Anyone know what the minimum thickness for the brake disc can be? The OS is 10.2mm. Is the slight mushrooming of the top shock mount as designed or is that caused from use? Anyone know what the recommended strengthening mod is for the upper shock mount? I had a look last night but couldn't find it. Did a tidy up before heading off so Dave will be happy as I put all the tools away so he'll be able to find stuff now. I'm away this week for work so hopefully I'll get some more work done next weekend otherwise I'll be stone wall building up at the cottage instead. |
